Frédérique
I know first-hand what the right support can do for a young learner. Over eight years of tutoring and a degree built around education have shaped my approach: give pupils the right tools, the right environment, and the confidence to reach any goal they set for themselves.

As a child, school was never easy for me. It always seemed like I was a few steps behind everyone else and I often felt like perhaps I wasn’t good enough. In secondary school, I went to a summer school and started having lessons with a tutor. These were game changers for me! I quickly realised that with a structure, a calm environment and the appropriate tools, I could reach any goals I’d set for myself.
Today, with more than 8 years experience in the tuition field and a degree tailored for tutoring (including a 1:1 in CertHE Psychology), my vision is to help children thrive to their full potential. Through the years, I’ve learned that the key to successful learning is by giving my students the tools they need, to then provide guidance and encouragement throughout their journey.
I feel fortunate every day to provide children and teenagers the space to succeed—the very space I wish I had for myself, and the reason why I founded The Study Studio.
I’ve been living in London for more than 8 years, and I adore this city! I love cycling, doing yoga, knitting, reading and going for long walks. I am organised, hard-working, but I’d say my best qualities as a tutor are my warmth and my sense of humour (I’ve heard!).
I specialise in English, French and Humanities tutoring for both the British and French curriculum, from primary level through to A-Level and Baccalauréat, working from our studio in Parsons Green, Fulham SW6.

For me, learning is a conversation, not a lecture. I combine academic rigour with playfulness, and a deep love of literature and theatre, to create sessions where students feel confident, curious and genuinely engaged.

Who said that studying had to be boring?
Both culture and literature are vectors of sharing. I place at the heart of my pedagogy this passion that I have, in order to cultivate it, along with my pupils. Learning mustn't become a chore, on the contrary, it has to be a source of curiosity, of pleasure, and even fun! I am strongly convinced that learning is a true collaboration and a dialogue between a teacher and their student : a teacher brings their knowledge of course, but a child always takes a young look and perspective, often refreshing and always enriching.
I also believe that literature is a fundamental tool for learning and I deeply care about communicating this feeling with my students (by making literature appealing and engaging again!). I always combine interactivity and playfulness with academia and theory.
As theatre has played an important part in my life, I put it to good use in my lessons so that my students gain assurance and confidence.
My many years of experience as a tutor and as a bookseller have put many children from all around the world on my path. I am so grateful to have met so many different personalities and I am looking forward to continuing this journey of growth and progression!

I have a contagious passion for learning, and I firmly believe that the learning process itself should be enjoyable and enriching. With 10 years of experience in tutoring and university teaching, I will guide your child on a journey of discovery where they will learn how to learn, in a safe, rigorous, and fun environment.

Learning how to love learning and exploring the depths of curiosity are such powerful tools.
As a child, I deeply loved school and enjoyed all subjects. I was so curious that I never tired of learning more about our world, and I participated in various competitions, such as mental arithmetic, dictation, philosophical essays, and advanced math, simply for the fun of it. As a teenager, while I still loved all topics, I developed a strong passion for mathematics and physics. After visiting an observatory with my school, I fell in love with astronomy, which led me to pursue a BSc and MSc in physics. I led research projects on supermassive black holes and exoplanets using images taken by telescopes. However, as much as I loved studying the universe, my first fascination – and favourite planet – will always remain our Earth. That is why I decided to pursue a PhD in Earth Science, during which I worked on the evolution of coral reef islands in the Indian Ocean under climatic stressors across space and time.
As a first generation STEM student, and the first in my family to have obtained a master’s degree and then a PhD, building my scientific path has not always been easy. I am also proud and openly autistic; I hope to be able to guide and represent younger generations from under-represented backgrounds, and to inspire them to pursue their dreams despite the challenges.
My teaching philosophy and approach aim to help students develop their intuition, logical thinking and organisational skills. I am patient and very positive, and I will strive to find the learning methods best suited to your child's needs (for example, visual aids, drawings and colours). I also aim to pass on my own passion and enthusiam for these subjects to my students.
I specialise in Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Environmental Science, supporting students across both the British and French curriculum from primary level through to A-Level and Baccalauréat.

I did really well and got an A in French, being only 7 marks away from an A+. Most impressively, I received full marks in my French speaking exam. These are results I would not have been able to achieve without your help and so I am emailing to thank you and to show my appreciation.
We have our French lessons with Ms Laurine, she's superb, the lessons and materials are well prepared.
Frédérique is very structured and plans ahead, making you feel like you are heading towards a specific goal. At the same time, she knows how to make French fun and has given me so many ideas to improve my French beyond the class time.

My daughter attends a French school but speaks mostly English at home. When she started Reception, she was struggling a little with both French and reading, which is when we asked Frédérique to support her. It has now been five years, and the experience has been truly wonderful. Frédérique is patient, understanding, and always works closely with the school curriculum. Over the years, Frédérique has become much more than a tutor, she feels like part of our family. She has been an absolute treasure to us, and I cannot recommend her highly enough.
A beautiful, calm, and bright place. The tutors are caring, highly competent, and know how to adapt their approach to the needs of each child or teenager. The tutoring is personalized and of high quality. The facility also offers a dining area for breakfast and dinner. And while our child is being supervised, we can even enjoy a Pilates class. An excellent experience that I highly recommend!
Freddie is the perfect tutor for our two girls, she couldn't be better suited. The girls are enjoying their weekly classes and the homework she sets is a great mix of revision, exercises to challenge them and fun interactive games to really allow them the chance to understand the tasks and subject.
Fred has been our son's tutor since he was 9 years old, 4 years now, working with him 2 to 3 times a week. My son attends the Lycée Français and is dyslexic, and Fred has been excellent, patient, and consistently able to adapt her methods to his specific needs. As a result, he has made real progress across every subject she covered with him {...}. What stands out most is that the sessions are never a burden for him. He is always genuinely happy to attend, even the early morning sessions before school. That consistency, over four years, speaks for itself.
Phenomenal experience working with Freddie and the Study Studio over the past two months. Freddie’s tailored approach to each child makes for impactful sessions where the learner thrives and enjoys. We adore Freddie at The Study Studio, and our boys do too, which still amazes me for tutoring. She has such a gentle, warm way with them, and her whole approach is built around real learning rather than drilling. The children genuinely don’t realise they’re being taught.
